Mount Hobson

Saturday after Exercise Class, Allen rang and asked where I was as he couldn't stand another minute at home. Warren and Holly next door were rearranging their section. They had the digger in and were busy re-landscaping the entire section, including the house on the street.

I woke up on Friday morning to the hedge that separated the properties completely gone. They had a hedge cutting party on Thursday night, we thought it was just a party.

However back to late Saturday morning after I got home we headed over the bridge to climb a volcano.
I thought you might like to have a look at the view. This is from the Remuera side looking over to North Head and Rangitoto, with the Oraki Lagoon in the front. It was a beautiful day and the hike up the hill wasn't too bad at all, I must be getting fitter with all the walking I have done.

I took two shots of the view as I wasn't too certain how it would turn out. I couldn't see the viewfinder as the sun was too brilliant. It looks like its going to turn into a long hot summer. Yippee.

There are more pictures on the Web Album of the crater, cows and motorway heading back into Auckland. Quite a magnificent view for very little effort.

We are spring cleaning, or rather Allen is spring cleaning out the books. I am doing my bit, by saying which ones can be thrown away. We have moved the lounge around, and made a bit more room for the summer move out to the patio.

I have negotiated with Warren next door to dump some more mulch so we can completely cover the lower yard and plant out natives. I want a bush effect with NO WEEDS. Looks like we will be doing this next weekend.

Off to the Drake in town tonight with Shelly and John to listen to Jazz and have dinner. Should be nice.

Well better get back to sorting the books, making lunch and do a bit of sewing.
